Kalinga Jyoti – The Odia Club of VIT Chennai

Kalinga Jyoti is the official Odia club of VIT Chennai, founded with the vision of uniting students who share a love for Odisha’s rich heritage, culture, and traditions. The club serves as a vibrant platform to celebrate the essence of Odia identity while fostering inclusivity and togetherness among students from all backgrounds.

Through cultural events, festivals, artistic performances, literary activities, and social initiatives, Kalinga Jyoti strives to showcase the spirit of Odisha – its art, music, dance, food, and festivals – to the VIT community. We aim to create a “home away from home” for Odia students while also welcoming non-Odias to explore, experience, and embrace the beauty of our traditions.

At Kalinga Jyoti, we believe in blending culture with creativity. Our activities are designed not only to preserve and promote Odia heritage but also to encourage leadership, collaboration, and innovation among members. From hosting traditional festivities like Raja Parba, Utkal Divas, and Nuakhai, to engaging in cultural fests and social drives, we keep the flame of Kalinga alive on campus.

Together, as the light of Kalinga – “Jyoti” – we shine to celebrate unity in diversity and carry forward the legacy of our roots with pride.
